Andrea Sitarova (Czech Republic)
“NESsT presents, in my view, a significant shift from project support to complex and long-term empowerment of NGOs, allowing them to pursue their social goals by helping them emulate the business skills needed for self-financing. En route to this goal, Communication is key for an NGO to build a credible profile of an expert and stable organization that donors (venture philanthropists) may want to invest their funds and expertise into."
Andrea Sitarova focuses on government relations and political and corporate communication at the Prague office of Burson-Marsteller. She is helping NESsT with its communications launch and strategy in the Czech market, and advising also its Portfolio organizations in communication. Prior to joining BM, Andrea worked as a public policy consultant at OECD (Paris), focusing on fiscal issues. Through over 4 years of experience at the Embassy of Canada in Slovakia (Canadian International Development Agency Section), Andrea cooperated with NGOs in Slovakia, including social enterprises. Andrea holds an MPA in Public Policy and Management from London School of Economics and Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). She pursued a post-graduate programme in European Affairs and International Relations at the Law School of the Comenius University (Slovakia). She also holds a Masters in International Business from the University of Economics (Slovakia) and Universite Jean Moulin (France).
