Cristina Penteado (São Paulo, Brazil)
"As part of Brazil’s nascent and rapidly evolving private equity community, I believe we are helping the domestic economy to grow and further develop not only by providing much needed long-term capital, but also by backing up and fostering local talent and resources. In my view, NESsT’s work in emerging markets shares many of the business and financial practices and tools that a traditional financial investor would utilize, yet it adds a social component filling a very important gap in civil society today. In particular, it’s the ultimate goal of promoting self-sustainable social enterprises that will pave the way for their continued success and expanding reach in the future. I am very pleased to be able to contribute to such a remarkable endeavor.”
