Martín Huffmann

Banco Santander Río

(Buenos Aires, Argentina)

“I am motivated to join NESsTs business advisory network because its a space that allows me to apply my knowledge and expertise to organizations and institutions that usually have very little contact with the business and professional management worlds, and at the same time have a definitive impact on them.  I believe that NESsT has a very special approach to the organizations that it supports, and I hope to be able to continue contributing more as the program advances.  I also believe, personally, that this has allowed me to get to know a world with rules and realities that are different from the ones I encounter everyday, and from which I hope to learn.”

Martín is currently working as a senior analyst at Nexo Emprendedor, an area that is responsible for the administration of the Fondo de Innovación Tecnológica (Technological Innovation Fund), a venture capital fund from Santander Rio Bank. Martíns responsibilities in this department are in analysis and development of new investment prospects, as well as follow-up on portfolio enterprises.  Previously, Martíns professional career focused on Marketing for S.C. Johnson Argentina – for cleaning products and insecticides – and Access Softek, a software company in California; and in Planning and Management Control at Techint SA.

Martín also participates in an Entrepreneurship course at the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA), and helped launch Rent-a-moto, a family enterprise dedicated to renting out BMW motorcycles for tourism.

Martín has an Industrial Engineering degree with honors from ITBA, and an MBA from University of California, Berkeley, where he also received the Kauffman scholarship for "Entrepreneurship & Innovation."
