María Fernanda Garcés is an attorney, has a PhD in Jurisprudence specialized in finance and marketing, and has taken courses on both state reforms and microfinance at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Insituto Italiano de Derecho para el Desarrollo IDLO. Her knowledge and practical experience has been in international cooperation, projects on economic and social development, and finance and business law, with an emphasis on non profit organizations. She has taught several courses on the legal responsibilities of NGOs and development enterprises, as well as topics related to the search for microfinance sources and alternative financing. She also has teaching experience at the Universidad Internacional SEK and Universidad San Francisco de Quito. She is currently responsible for the Law and Microfinance Unit for the development of Dret Consultores, the law office where she is a partner. She is also a founding member and executive director of the CORPORACION WAM ECUADOR – Women Advancing Microfinance – Ecuador Chapter. |
