With ten years of experience in management, strategy, and social entrepreneurship, Jimena Betancourt joined NESsT in March 2009 as Enterprise Development Manager.

Previous to working at NESsT, Jimena was a consultant for Ashoka’s Full Economic Citizenship (FEC) and Support Network (ASN) initiatives, where she did market research, identifying and engaging stakeholders to advance hybrid (corporate-social) business models to serve low-income markets in housing and agriculture sectors in Colombia.

Jimena has also worked on multi-stakeholder approaches to sustainable livelihoods for FAO and advance research in Corporate Social Responsibility for the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC), AVINA, and  FNPI (Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoaméricano), where she co-authored “La Otra Cara de la Libertad,” a CSR study on the Latin American media sector.

Before moving into the social sector, Jimena worked for four years as Country Manager for the Canadian Education Center in Colombia.

Jimena holds a Master of Business Administration from Simmons College School of Management and a degree in Finance and International Relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
